i Tarocchi delle Mille e una Notte

i Tarocchi delle Mille e una Notte
Italian artist Giacinto Gaudenzi may be best known to tarot enthusiasts as the creator of i Tarocchi del'Alba Dorata (Tarots of the Golden Dawn) and Tarocchi di Dürer, both published by Lo Scarabeo. In his Mille e una Notte (1001 nights) tarot folio, Gaudenzi explores the "erotic side" of the famous Arabian tales of Scheherezade.

Here, Gaudenzi has created 24 images, the first 22 of which correspond to the cards of the "traditional" tarot major arcana. The cards are printed 3 to a sheet, so Gaudenzi has filled out his image gallery with two original cards. Each sheet measures approximately 14" x 10". The print set is encased in a lovely blue canvas-covered bookcase box.

This work was released as a very limited edition of black-and-white prints, although a select few (approximately 10) were hand-colored by the artist.
