Kashmir Tarot

Kashmir Tarot
Modelled after his own original major arcana woodcarvings, Dutch artist Nicholaas C.J. van Beek created this printed version of the images in 1984, at the urging of noted tarot expert Stuart Kaplan. The extremely vivid colors of this deck (not captured well in the samples due to the limitations of digital scanning) were achieved by silk screening the inks onto an unusually heavy card stock; the process required 15 - 20 print runs for each card. The cards measure approximately 4" x 5.5".

The images themselves are a combination of "traditional Western" tarot elements (such as those found in the Rider-Waite and Marseilles tarots) with "Eastern motifs," including chakra symbolism. The resulting deck is an assemblege of 22 miniature fine art masterpieces that are sure to enhance the collection of any art lover or tarot enthusiast!
