Description: 1981 limited edition tarot blending classical art with classical music. The major arcana cards depict scenes from famous operas, ballets, and noted classical concert works. A different musical instrument is aligned with each of the four suits -- violins for pentacles, a french horn for wands, and elephant-tusk horn for cups, and a mandolin for swords. Additionally, a different composer (Paganini, Bach, Beethoven, and Verdi) is featured on each of the four aces, and the four kings from the four different suits depict famous opera houses from around the world. The 2 - 10 pips are unillustrated. This deck has been featured in Kaplan's Encyclopedia of Tarot, vol. III, pp. 368, 374-375. 78 cards, presented in varying styles of packaging.
