Featured New Releases:
Schiffer's
"Tarotpalooza"
|
|
We kick off our look at the latest
releases with a relative newcomer to the field of tarot: Schiffer
publishing. Following on the heels of such popular titles as the Pirate! Tarot and The Transparent Tarot, Schiffer proudly brings us four new titles that
merit serious consideration for any tarot library:
• Twilight Realm: A Tarot of Fairy. Soft
colors take on a surprising vibrancy against the dark backgrounds of
this delicate fantasy world. Sprites and spirits beckon the viewer to
enter their magical kingdom, and share in their wisdom.
• Silver Era Tarot. Deftly constructed
photographic elements remind us of romantic days gone by, while at the
same time providing the student with an exciting modern flair.
• ShadowFox Tarot. Wispy figures seem to
almost fade in and out of view, drawing us into their sphere and then
gently releasing us. The accompanying book provides a vast array of
fascinating and useful symbol associations for each and every card.
• Otherworld Tarot. Colorful and playful,
these joyous cards introduce us to a cast of fantastic beings, and
remind us that life is a celebration of experience and sensation.

The Decks of Chronata:
Minute
Tarot and
All Hallows Tarot
Thanks to the folks at The Tarot Connection, the tarots of Robyn Tisch-Hollister (a.k.a.
Chronata) are finally available to the general tarot community. Each
deck is tucked inside a drawstring bag, housed in a lidded tin.
In The
Minute Tarot, we discover the essentials of each of the
major and minor arcana. The average creation time for each card was
five minutes -- an exercise that forced the artist to incisively render
only the most important details. In the All
Hallows Tarot, the viewer is treated to a celebration of
all things Halloween-y, in a lighthearted look at the characters and
traditions that make the season a perennial favorite. Both decks are
available now in the Small Press section of our Boutique; click
here for samples and pricing for the Minute
Tarot, and click
here for samples and pricing for the All
Hallows Tarot.

Now in our
"Popular" section:
The Latest
Gems
From Lo Scarabeo
As
usual, Lo Scarabeo has been busy creating a variety of
interestingly-themed decks for tarot lovers worldwide. Since our last
site update, five new Lo Scarabeo titles have been released. Here's a
quick look at the latest and greatest from our favorite Italian "tarot
enablers"...
• Vampires Tarot of the Eternal Night. Gothic melodrama, executed in an almost
photorealistic digital style, brings everyone's favorite dark archetype
to the forefront. Available both as a deck/book set or deck alone, each
image is filled with its own visceral story, awaiting those who are
brave enough to explore their forbidden secrets.
• Shaman Tarot. Shamanistic figures and practices cut across many
cultures worldwide. This deck is among the first to explore not just
one, but many such traditions from a variety of civilizations, both
ancient and modern.
• Heart Tarot. These unusual heart-shaped cards speak to all
aspects of love, from the platonic to the romantic to the sensual.
Perfect for exploring relationships of all sorts, the Heart Tarot reminds us that our
emotional connections with others take many forms.
• Shining Angels Tarot. What benevolent, silent guides and guardians lurk
behind each of tarot's 78 tableaus? The round cards of this deck
showcase the divine energies that invisibly permeate Book T's classic
archetypes.
• Dark Angels Tarot. Arguably the "flip side" companion to the Shining Angels Tarot, the Dark
Angels of this tarot's world come to us at the end of days, to ease our
suffering and gently guide us from this evolution to the next.

they're fresh!
Assorted New
Titles
You Won't Want
to Miss
If you
just can't get enough tarot, The Tarot Garden is, as usual, here to
help. Here's some more new decks that you won't want to miss...
• Cruel Thing Tarot. Everyone knows how much we love a good "edgy" tarot.
So it was a joy to find that this deck lived up to our expectations,
and more. Dramatic red-accented black-and-white images give these cards
visual punch, while impishly teasing the viewer to dig deeper into the
deck's excellent but not-always-easily apparently symbols.
• Shadowscapes Tarot. The long-awaited tarot from artist Stephanie Pui-Mun
Law is finally here! Sweeping fantasy panoramas delight and enchant,
while the companion guidebook by Barbara Moore provides some of the
most admirably approachable tarot instruction we've found in written
form.
• Deck of Shadows. Here's the oracle deck that was all the buzz at the
2010 Readers' Studio. Scott Grossberg's original and evocative
black-and-white cards are perfectly complimented by the quadrangle of
keywords that surround each image.
• Silenus Tarot. Revisit the Greek mythology archetypes in this
delightful, cartoon-like deck that serves up parable with classic tarot
style.
• The Tarot and the Mysteries of Love and Sex. The newest member of the "naughty deck of the month"
club, this explicit set of sexual icons is a must-have for the erotic
deck collector. NOTE: This item is
only available for sale to customers age 18 and over.

information, click on the titles above to access our Boutique listings
for each deck.
